Park Ambassador

I first adopted Taplow Creek Trail a little over a year ago. I had seen the signs in the park that said, "Adopt Me" and I thought, "sure, why not?" It's close to my home and I go for walks there all the time. Well, it has been an amazing experience, to say the least! If you have ever thought about becoming a Trail Ambassador, I highly recommend it. As a trail ambassador, I have learned a lot about how our waste makes its way into the environment and the harmful effects it has on our water systems and wildlife. On the plus side, it has been great exercise and a great way to meet fellow Oakvillians who share the same concern for our beautiful town. In short, I love volunteering my time to keep Oakville beautiful, and encourage you to contact the Town and adopt a park near you.

I’m so happy – I have adopted another park. This charming little piece of forest is tucked between a school and a lovely neighborhood. It’s a bit far from my house, so I ride my bike to get there. I really enjoyed this little cleanup today  – very peaceful and relaxing. We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful town. #grateful
